COVID-19 Updates

Your family’s safety is our primary goal. We are following current recommendations of the CDC, OSHA and national dental organizations to keep our patients, staff and families free from infection. You may see some changes when it is time for your child’s next appointment. We have made these changes to help protect your families and our staff. For example:

  • You may notice that our waiting room (for the time being) will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. You may also notice floor markings and distance between chairs so as to abide by social distancing recommendations.
  • All touch points will be cleaned and disinfected frequently throughout the day.
  • Plastic guards are in place at the reception and check-outs counters. We have also placed permanent partitions between our chairs in our open clinical area.
  • We have installed air purification units throughout the office to improve our safety measures. These units remove 99.97% of allergens, bacteria, viruses, dust, smoke, etc.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

Precautionary measures we are taking for, and during, your child’s dental appointment:

  • All patients should call or text our office, through your appointment reminder, upon arrival to the office. Please remain in your car. We will let you know when we are ready for you to come in.
  • For young children, one parent or guardian will be allowed to accompany the patient. If possible, the patient should enter the office alone.
  • The patient’s temperature will be taken, and a pre-screening questionnaire will be reviewed.
  • We ask that the accompanying parent, or guardian, wear their face mask from home for their child’s dental appointment. If you are unable, or do not have, we will provide masks as we are able to supply them.
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office.
  • All team members will have their temperature taken and complete pre-screening questions prior to beginning patient care each day. Staff will always be wearing a mask. Extra protective masks, face shields, gowns, and high vacuum evacuation will be used for any procedure that would produce an aerosol.
  • Once we have completed the appointment, we will complete all insurance and billing needs, and schedule the next appointment, while maintaining social distancing requirements. If we are unable to do so, we may complete over the phone.
  • We ask that you report any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 to our office within 14 days of your visit.

Screening Questions

Please review the screening questions below. We are required to ask these questions prior to, and the day of, your child’s dental appointment.

  • Does your child have a fever, or have felt feverish in the last 14 days?
  • Have they experienced shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?
  • Do they have a cough?
  • Any other flu-like symptoms, such as: headache, fatigue, etc?
  • Have they experienced any loss of smell or taste?
  • Have they, or you, had contact with anyone confirmed COVID-19 positive?
  • Have they been diagnosed with heart disease, diabetes, auto-immune disorders, or kidney disease?
  • Has your family traveled in the past 14 days to any regions affected by COVID-19?

IF you answered YES to any of these questions, we ask that you contact our office to let us know and confirm your appointment at 517-337-0032.

IF you answered NO, please review your appointment information sent via text message, and confirm your appointment by replying with the letter “C.”

IF you are unable to make your appointment, please call 517-337-0032 to let us know as soon as possible, so that we can make other arrangements. IF your child is ill at this time, we ask that you remain home, and reschedule the appointment for another time.
